Bp (blood pressure) is the force of blood 'pushing' against the walls of the arteries with each heart-pump.
High bp can damage the body and lead to lots of complications - kidney failure, stroke, heart failure blah blah blah. But maybe its our lifestyles, our stress... the percentage of sufferers of high BP is rising and getting younger!
The scariest part :-
Due to little or no symptoms of high bp, one can be a 'carrier' for years w/o realising it!
How many of us actually bother checking our bp number regularly until it is all too late? My dad has high bp BUT he never knew it until the STROKE came. Could the stroke been prevented? I don't know but just feel MAYBE... if only we knew...
Besides lifestyle, bp has the tendency to rise with age. Hence all the more one should try jumping onto healthy lifestyle wagon with each passing year. Controlling it is possible, IF you want.
